What are the main types of perimeter security systems?

There are 5 main types of such systems:

• Infrared – they, in turn, are divided into two types: passive and active. The point of operation of the first variant: the alarm is formed as soon as the object (intruder) “hit” the range of infrared radiation. The point of operation of the second version: when the laser beam (invisible to humans) is interrupted, there is an alarm;
• Radio-beam – it includes both a receiver and a transmitter. The system detects an intruder if he gets into the range of the electromagnetic field created between the transmitter and the receiver. The significant disadvantage of such a system is the probability of false “readings” due to changes in the weather;
• Capacitive – block the top of the fence. Suitable for protection of long areas of the territory;
• geophone – they are mounted along the protected area, observing the distance between them – 2-3 m. The disadvantage is high susceptibility to strong interference from the sources of seismic signals;
• Vibration – the main element of the system is a sensor cable. The microprocessor “knows” how to distinguish true “readings” from false ones. The user can set the necessary parameters for this purpose. When installing, you should consider the height of the fence, which should be such that it is impossible to avoid touching when crossing it.

If it is not possible to lay cables, modern technical solutions allow the use of wireless sensors. The alarm signal is transmitted using a radio channel. And such sensors are powered from an autonomous source.
